Newest of Omicron's Effects on the Body, Found Inflammation of the Heart

Omicron was said to be a lighter variant than the previous ones. But that doesn't mean that people are complacent to underestimate this variant of COVID-19.

Recently, a hospital in Israel found the first case of heart inflammation in a patient with the Omicron variant of the corona virus.

To be precise, doctors at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer revealed to Channel 12 News that a 43-year-old man was being treated for inflammation of the heart muscle (myocarditis).

"This is the first time we've seen this with Omicron," said Prof. Shlomi Matetzky, a cardiologist at the hospital, was quoted by the Times of Israel.

"This is a worrying development that we need to think about. We continue to monitor patients who are currently in intensive care," he added.

The man is known to have received the booster vaccine and is healthy with no other congenital health problems. And it is known that Israel has experienced a spike in Covid-19 cases. But not only Israel, a number of countries are also getting 'busy' with this variant.
