The Rise of Harassment Cases, Recognize 5 Types of Sexual Deviance Around Us, One of them is Pedophilia

Recently, we have been presented with a lot of news about cases of sexual harassment or deviant behavior. Many factors cause a person to engage in deviant behavior, including childhood trauma, disturbed sexual development, lack of parental supervision, psychological disorders, and others.

This deviant behavior is certainly disturbing, dangerous, and we must always be aware of it because there are so many deviant behaviors that are around us. Therefore, identify some kinds of deviations that we must know.

The first sexual deviation is exhibitionism, which is a condition characterized by the urge, fantasy, or act of exposing one's genitals to disapproving people, especially strangers.

Citing the Psychology Today page, the condition is considered a paraphilic disorder, which refers to a persistent and intense pattern of atypical sexual arousal accompanied by clinically significant impairment.

Factors that cause exhibitionism are antisocial personality, alcohol abuse, interest in pedophilia, and experiencing sexual harassment.

Pedophilia is a sexual disorder characterized by intense and repetitive fantasies, urges, or sexual behavior involving children under the age of 13.

In western society, a diagnosis of pedophilia requires that the perpetrator is 16 years or younger or at least 5 years older than the child victim. But if the perpetrator is in his late teens (17-18 years old) with a 12 or 13 year old child, he might call it not a pedophile but a rape case.

Pedophilia is usually more common among men who are known to the victim, such as stepparents, uncles, neighbors, even teachers or coaches. When committing these acts, the perpetrator may use force, coercion, and threaten if the victim tells others.
